Alton Towers has been a major influence in this area for hundreds of years.  It was the seat of the Earls of Shrewsbury for many generations and has always been at the centre of the community.  We are very proud of our heritage and this site is designed to provide you with an insight into the past, as well as an opportunity to see how we plan to develop in future years.
